News about Plastic Surgery

Congress is proposing  a 5% tax on cosmetic surgery.

The Plastic Surgery Center of Asheville and the American Society of  Plastic Surgeons oppose the proposed tax on cosmetic surgery.  Since 91% of cosmetic procedures are requested by women, the tax discriminates against women.  The tax would make physicians tax collectors and would violate the patient privacy laws.
