Dr. Donald R. Conway Retirement Announcement
After more than 31 years of caring for patients at The Plastic Surgery Center in Asheville, North Carolina, I will retire effective November 14, 2025. I am no longer accepting new patients.
Thank you to all the patients, staff, and colleagues who have made providing care a wonderful life’s experience and the privilege of my career. The Plastic Surgery Center welcomed Dr. Claire Davis in September and Drs. Halvorson and Stern are also available to continue patient care.

There are many “name-brand” procedures advertised for superior cosmetic results. Many of these are merely new names for time tested procedures and some are relatively new technology and are still undergoing clinical testing. New technology requires long term study to determine the efficacy, safety, and success rate. Many studies have found that new technology, compared to standard procedures, produces no difference in terms of results. Our physicians evaluate each patient and procedure on an individual basis to choose the appropriate procedure to safely provide the desired result.
The best procedure for each individual patient should be determined according to their specific needs in a consultation with a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
